Mitsiry 🌳 Agreement signed with Jiro-Ve 💡
Jiro-Ve, a pioneer in rural electrification in Madagascar since 2012, is among the first beneficiary companies of the Mitsiry programme, co-created by USAID Madagascar and Miarakap, with the contribution of several partner companies.
Jiro-Ve has developed an innovative and inclusive micro-franchise model to provide affordable, clean and healthy lighting to the most vulnerable communities. This model allows them to rent a rechargeable LED lamp at a lower price than candles or petrol. For MGA 250 per day, communities get a fully charged lamp delivered to their homes. Jiro-Ve also offers solar electrification solutions, and plans to launch an eco-responsible cooking system through Mitsiry.
The signing of the partnership agreement took place on 13 May 2022, with Koloina Anjatiana Ramaromandray, Director of the Mitsiry programme, and Rik Stamhuis, CEO of Jiro-Ve.
